SIX DIFFERENCES BETWEEN GOD’S LAW & THE MOSAIC LAW

The first three (3) differences are:

 

1)  God’s laws were audibly spoken by God at Mount Sinai. 

Exodus 19:9 ... “The Lord said to Moses, ‘Behold, I will come to you in a thick cloud, so that the people may hear when I speak with you and may also believe in you forever.’ Then Moses told the words of the people to the Lord.”

Exodus 20:1 ... “Then God spoke all these words,...”

 

Ø The Mosaic law was not given audibly but rather given to Moses privately.

 

2)  God’s law was directly written by the finger of God on stone tablets.

Exodus 31:18 ... “When He had finished speaking with him upon Mount Sinai, He gave Moses the two tablets of the testimony, tablets of stone, written by the finger of God.”

 

Ø The Law of Moses was not written by God but by Moses inspired by God.

Deuteronomy 31:9 ... “So Moses wrote this law and gave it to the priests, the sons of Levi who carried the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and to all the elders of Israel.”

 

3)  It is God who commanded His laws in Mount Sinai. 

Deuteronomy 4:13-14 ... “So He declared to you His covenant which He commanded you to perform, that is, the Ten Commandments; and He wrote them on two tablets of stone. The Lord commanded me at that time to teach you statutes and judgments, that you might perform them in the land where you are going over to possess it.” 

 

Ø Moses commanded his laws (the statutes and judgments) to the children of Israel.
