WE ARE CHOSEN

Isaiah 41:9b-10 New Living Translation
“For I have chosen you and will not throw you away.  Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.”
The 2nd part of verse 9 is very revealing.  In spite of all that the people of Israel had done against the will of God he can still say, “I have chosen you and will not throw you away.”  That means that before Israel could choose God, he had already chosen them.  It’s the same with us today.  God loves us. He always has and he always will.  It doesn’t matter what we’ve done in our lives, God’s love never fades.  Once we come to our senses with a repentant heart seeking forgiveness for our latest error in judgment, fellowship with our heavenly King is reestablished.
The Lord uses key words here thru the prophet Isaiah to elevate his people.  For us today, the Lord is with us and in us in the person of the Holy Spirit of God.  Therefore God is closer to us then anyone else ever could be because his spirit resides within us.  This is the reason being afraid, while very human, is unnecessary. That is very much easier to say than to do.  Our senses betray us as they react to that with takes place all around us.  We fear what we do not understand.  We fear what we cannot see.  We allow anxiety to cloud our eyes of faith.  All normal responses, however, we are not normal any longer.  We are children of the King.  We are also ambassadors of Christ.  In Jesus’ name we are able to stand, unafraid and withstand any and all evil that shall come against us.  That is faith and trust in action.
The people of Israel needed to go thru many trials and tribulations because of their periodic defiance against the will of God.  We must use their example as a guide of what not to do.  We are to obey the word of God and live our lives like Christ lived his.  Because of God’s unfailing love for us all he will never fail us.  We must seek his will each day and then go boldly throughout our day.  Show people in your sphere of influence what Jesus was like by following God’s standards as laid out in scripture.  You can do it because God is with you.  Until next time, walk with the King and be a blessing!
