Thoughts From a Random Mind

Note: Since I feel the Lord has been speaking to my heart in a special way at work recently, I've decided I would type them out and call them 'Thoughts From a Random Mind'. Just a little something different for a bit. 'Thoughts from a Random Mind' is the title of my 2nd published book ... a 365 day devotional. Yes, my mind can tend to be very random at times. Makes for interesting times. (lol) Love y'all! rlkeller

THE FATAL FLAW
When someone commits a heinous crime or makes a horrendous mistake in their life and during a time of soul searching finds Christ, there are some people who say “Oh, that’s such a good thing. I’m glad he found something he feels will help him.” The fatal flaw in that thought process is that scripture tells us ALL have sinned and fallen short of God’s glory (Romans 3:23). The flaw is compounded because mortal man compares himself to other mortals rather than their creator. Those who choose to not believe in the existence of God have no perfect standard to compare to, so they find themselves at a severe disadvantage. The sad part in that is that they don’t realize the severity of their situation. Those who are God conscience, at the very least, must understand that comparing themselves to those other imperfect people around them will get them nowhere and will only give them a false sense of security. When we compare ourselves to the Lord we come up wanting on all fronts. Seek to imitate Christ in your daily life. He is our advocate in this life. Until next time, walk with the King and be a blessing! rlkeller
“This righteousness of God comes through faith in Jesus Christ for all those [Jew or Gentile] who believe [and trust in Him and acknowledge Him as God’s Son]. There is no distinction, since all have sinned and continually fall short of the glory of God, and are being justified [declared free of the guilt of sin, made acceptable to God, and granted eternal life] as a gift by His [precious, undeserved] grace, through the redemption [the payment for our sin] which is [provided] in Christ Jesus, whom God displayed publicly [before the eyes of the world] as a [life-giving]sacrifice of atonement and reconciliation by His blood [to be received] through faith.”Romans 3:22-25 Amplified Bible

Thoughts From A Random Mind

THE NOISE EXPLOSION

We are bombarded with stimuli nearly every waking moment of every day.  How, as believers in Christ, can we be victorious in our battle to be quiet before the Lord. Something that tends to work for me is to close my eyes, no matter where I am, and focus on all the sounds around me. Slowly I dismiss each sound until I am hearing virtually nothing. I’m tuned out so I can tune in, if you know what I mean. I then try to shift my focus onto the spirit. It doesn’t always work for me because I am easily distracted, but I’ve been working on it for years so I’m slowly improving in my efforts to tune in to the Lord. Perhaps there is something you can do that works for you. God wishes to minister to us, guide us and grant us peace in even the most trying times. Cultivating a peaceful spirit is a benefit to focusing on the peace giver. Make the effort to spend time in Christ’s presence by adjusting your focus and concentrating on the silence amidst the chaos. Until next time, walk with the King today and be a blessing! RLKeller

Thoughts From a Random Mind

LIFE’S SAD REALITY

There is a sad reality that we all face in due time. That reality is that a joyful spirit tends to get ground down as you get older. Whether Christian or not, life has a way of sucking the life out of us over time. It doesn’t have to be that way, but because we focus of situations instead of our Lord we end up owning whatever problems come associated with the situation. We must shift our focus off ourselves and life’s dilemmas and focus on God’s ability to fill us to overflowing so that the joy can be rekindled in our hearts and spirits. It’s what God desires for us. We must grasp it as if it were a golden ring. Once we have it, we must never let it go for it represents all that is good and righteous and fair and decent and loving and kind and joyous in this life. Focus on the good things and not the bad. Wipe off your frown and wear a smile. We cannot be an edifier or encourager to others if we are stuck in the mud. Strive for selflessness. Work seriously at being like Christ in your daily life. You can change your reality in an instant if you wish to. The choice is yours. Until next time, walk with the King and be a blessing! H. Jackson Brown, Jr on "Love"

This is what selfless, unconditional love is like!

OUR LIFE’S GOAL

“Let Christ’s word with all its wisdom and richness live in you.”Colossians 3:16a God’s Word Translation
The goal of our faith is to live for God each day. Paul gives us instruction in this simple verse. We must ingest his word into our heart and soul. Having done so we must allow it to manifest itself in our behavior. Develop a compassionate, forgiving heart attitude. Lead with love letting it guide your life. Let Christ’s peace “which exceeds anything we can understand”* rule our hearts. Be thankful each and every day for the favor God has placed on your life. Feast on God’s word each day to strengthen your spirit man. Live out your days on this earth being mindful that you are a representative of Christ.
Those are definitely words to live by and they are within your grasp in the word of God. Making excuses for
not reading the Bible never fly because it’s one of the most important things we must do as a follower of Christ. We mustn’t become weary of doing God’s will. The world will wear you out so much so that you are exhausted and feel as if you have no time or strength to do that which you know must be done for the kingdom.
The Lord doesn’t need you, but he has chosen to use you. What a rare privilege to be chosen by the God of creation to work out his will among men. Until next time, walk with the King and be a blessing!

SINKING YOUR ROOTS DEEP

“You received Christ Jesus the Lord, so continue to live as Christ’s people. Sink your roots in him and build on him. Be strengthened by the faith that you were taught, and overflow with thanksgiving.”
Colossians 2:6-7 God’s Word Translation
The receiving of Christ into your heart & life is the beginning of everything. The key to a successful relationship with the Lord is to become immersed in it. The frivolous things in life should begin to look to you as they truly are. That’s your spiritual eyesight coming into focus. Drive your roots deep into the rich soil of his word & grow. As your foundation, Christ can be the bedrock you need to build a blessed life for God.
As I had said yesterday, everyday is or at least should be thanksgiving to the believer, because the blessings never have to end. God’s love for us is so strong & abiding that it will take us a while to wrap our mind around the meaning of it for us. I dare say there is nothing this side of heaven to compare with God’s unconditional love for us.
It’s for these reasons that we should overflow with grateful hearts & thanksgiving on our lips, for our God is keenly aware of our comings & our goings & knows each trial before it materializes. He is in complete & utter control of all things & we can know him even as we are known if we take the time to know him in an intimate way. Until next time, walk with the King and be a blessing!
