IMPOSSIBLE (def): 1. Incapable of having existence or of occurring; 2. Not capable of being accomplished; 3. Unacceptable, intolerable; 4. extremely difficult to deal with or tolerate.
POSSIBLE (def): 1. Capable of happening, existing, or being true without contradicting proven facts, laws, or circumstances; 2. Capable of occurring or being done without offense to character, nature, or custom.
3. Capable of favorable development.
Perhaps you are in a situation that looks extremely difficult. Maybe it cannot be accomplished; incapable of occurring. To the human eye there is no way it is taking place. However, whoever said God saw things the way we do? God is the great I AM. He existed before creation. He created everything we can see all around us. Is there anything that could possibly be impossible to Him?
I am facing one of the most daunting experiences of my life right now. Suffice it to say, it seems impossible to me. But I know the Creator of the Universe. I know Him personally. I know His word. I know it is impossible for Him to lie; according to Hebrews 6:18 that is an unchangeable truth. There is no falsehood in Almighty God.
Doesn’t it seem strange, even preposterous, that we would place our trust in so many temporal and inane things or people that are naturally prone to lie and yet not give credence to the maker of all things? There we go with that whole faith and trust thing again. “… without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.” Hebrews 11:6 (NIV)
Trust in God. Believe in Him to do that which seems totally illogical and impossible. He can do as He wishes any time of the day or night, for time is irrelevant to Him. Scripture says “a day is like a thousand years and a thousand years like a day.” 2 Peter 3:8 (NIV)
That which seems impossible, is possible in the economy of God. If you will pardon the pun, you can bank on that.
