“Don’t worry
about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and
thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which
exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds
as you live in Christ Jesus.”
- Philippians
4:6-7 New Living Translation
What is peace? To the world peace is
nothing more than the absence of conflict or positive thinking, but that is not
true and lasting peace. That only comes from knowing that God is in full,
complete and total control of all things. There is nothing this world can do to
us that God does not have foreknowledge of, neither is there anything this
world can do to destroy our peace unless we allow it.
Instead of worrying, turn that worry into
prayer. We never have to beg or plead God to do anything, just lay it before
him and leave it there. God knows what we need, so our requests never surprise
him. His response may surprise us though. We may have to wait for his response,
but if we have confidence in his abilities and who he is, then it will be worth
the wait.
It is important for us as believers to
understand that the peace God gives is of the supernatural variety. It’s peace
that stares a difficulty square in the eye and doesn’t flinch. It’s peace that
allows our hearts to rest rather than beat out of our chest over something that
9 times out of 10 we can do nothing to change. Rest in the Lord and know that
he is always watching over you. Until next time, walk with the King and be a
blessing!
