As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God. – Psalm 42:1
When we enter into a personal relationship with our God and inner transformation takes place. His Spirit enters into us and we are reborn. The forgiveness we have sought has been granted to us and we are cleansed of all sin. It is at this time that we should have a hunger for God; an earnest desire to know Him and abide by His wishes. As a deer pants for streams of cool, refreshing water when it is thirsty, so our souls should pant after God, for it is God alone who can mold us and make us into all that He knows we can be in this life. We can live as we choose, but we will never achieve the fulfillment or contentment that can be found serving God. We are not a servant, per se, but a child who needs to be willing to follow the instruction of their Father. The Lord is gracious and kind; “slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness”. (Exodus 34:6) There is nothing that is unknown to Him and nothing He cannot do. Seek the cool waters of God and be refreshed. Until next time…walk with the King and be a blessing!
