SEEKING GODLY GUIDANCE

“Give discernment to me, your servant, then I will understand your laws.” “Guide my steps by your word, so I will not be overcome by evil.” - Psalm 119:125,133 New Living Translation
Discernment is the ability to have and use “keen insight and good judgment”. This is something that, just as the writer of the Psalm requested, you can ask for. In these perilous times we need spiritual discernment so we can correctly follow the guidance the Lord lays out for us. Following Christ needn’t be difficult. The difficulty comes when we don’t take the time to properly discern and do that which we know we’re being asked to do. Reluctance, laziness or ignorance could all be reasons we don’t follow thru, but they end up just being excuses in the end.  Godly guidance is available to anyone who seeks it. It’s not a secret and it’s certainly not privy to a select few.
Understanding God’s laws doesn’t have to be difficult. You simply have to want it more than anything else. Too many people feel that believing in God’s existence is all they need to do, so they say they believe and continue on doing that which seems right to them. God has a plan for each one of us. We will either seek it and tap into it or not. It’s our choice. God doesn’t force his will on anyone.
Evil is very prevalent in society today. If you doubt that watch the nightly news. God is in complete control of all things. Things go array because man forces his own will into given situations. Those who seek the face of God daily and desire to live according to his word will not be overcome by evil, but will thrive in the things of the Lord. The world has nothing to offer that can rival what God willingly provides. You just have to want it, seek it out and then obey and live it. Until next time, walk with the King and be a blessing!
