Well, the shopping is done. The presents are wrapped and then, when the time is right, in the blink of an eye a tornado rips thru the family room. Colorful paper, ribbons and bows are flying everywhere! Then calm ...
The setup for the big day took it’s toll on your nerves and now you can enjoy peace, quiet and a delicious cup of coffee (Caramel Brule, with French Vanilla creamer ... yum!). No music, no TV, no loud noises. Dogs are chewing on the bones they got the evening before, and the parents (or in our case, grandparents) are chillin’ ... just chillin’.
While, as an adult, you always seem to say that you ‘don’t need a thing’ when asked what your spouse can get you for Christmas, you never fail to appreciate the lovely gifts that are bought with you in mind. Christmas truly is the most wonderful time of the year!! But is it really just what we receive that does it for us? Or is there some other reason the season is so special?
Our debt-payer had been born ... happened 2,000 or so years ago. Did we think of Him at all last night thru today? The debt-payer’s coming was pre-planned by the Father all along, for He knew we’d never be able to pay our debt ... not at all. Jesus Christ is the debt-payer. Revel in His birth and carry His truth in your heart each day going forward.
