Philippians 4:6-7
New Living Translation
“Don’t worry
about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and
thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which
exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds
as you live in Christ Jesus.”
How nice it would be to not worry about
anything. If we accept the fact that God
is in control of all things, then why do we worry? There’s something about seeing things around
us that causes us to balk; however, our senses betray us. They react to current circumstances and crowd
out our faith. Not worrying seems an
impossible feat, yet if we turn our worries into prayers to the solution giver
we can exchange our concerns for peace.
Not just any peace, but Godly peace. The kind that “exceeds anything we
can understand”. You truly have to
experience it to believe it.
The peace God gives us doesn’t come from positive thinking, the absence
of conflict or in good feelings. It
comes from our reliance that the Lord will never let anything come against
us. There may be times when God allows
certain things to take place in our lives as a means of growing our faith and
trust in him. The closer we come to God
in our personal relationship the deeper our faith and trust will become. It is as we live in Christ that this peace is
transformed within us.
The next time we are faced with a trying situation, give it up to God
and know in our heart that He will take care of us. He will fill you with His peace if you ask
for it. Make all things a matter of
prayer. Pray believing and not with doubt or disbelief. Be conscience of his peace coming down over
you like a shroud of protection as it guards your heart and mind. Until next time, walk with the King and be a
blessing!
