“The
heavens proclaim the glory of God. The skies display his craftsmanship. Day
after day they continue to speak; night after night they make him known. They
speak without a sound or word; their voice is never heard. Yet their message
has gone throughout the earth, and their words to all the world.” – Psalm 19:1-4 New Living Translation
To believe that this world and everything
in it simply came into being on its own is, for me, much harder to believe than
a supreme being orchestrating the creation of all things and putting them in
their proper place. Any fault or irregularities in this world come from the
hand of man, not God. There are those in Christian circles who now believe that
there actually was a “Big Bang”, but instead of it being arbitrary, actually
coincided with the words “ ‘Let there be light!’ and there was light” (Genesis
1:3).
Think of all the wondrous sights throughout the world that have not been
touched by man. The radiant beauty of majestic mountains; the lush, green of
the world’s forests; cascading waterfalls; babbling brooks; freshly fallen snow;
meadows filled with wild flowers. Man continues to destroy that which surrounds
him in the name of progress and because of the free will afforded us God allows
it.
Free will is a wonderful gift. We can
believe or disbelieve, it’s solely our choice. However, to look at the beauty
that surrounds us and not believe in a higher power is mind-boggling. People
seem to think that if only God would reveal himself they would believe in him.
They didn’t believe when Jesus came into the world over 2000 years ago, why
would they believe now? The Lord waits patiently for the doubters to finally see,
but time will run out one day and all the opportunities that were passed over
or pushed aside will gnaw at them as they live apart from the one who created them
for all eternity. Don’t just look at the beauty all around you; see
it for what it truly is, the creative hand of God. Until next time, walk with
the King and be a blessing!
