MAKE HIS DESIRES YOURS

“Take delight1 in the LORD, and he will give you the desires2 of your heart.” Psalm 37:4

No matter how many times we get things wrong the Lord is always there will open arms and no condemnation. He is there with unconditional love.  We seem incapable of that type of love.  We get way too wound up in our assumed entitlements.  We strive for things that will not benefit us in the end and all the while, God is there, with open arms, waiting.
I know my faults and failings very plainly and clearly. I have stumbled, fallen, gotten up, gotten tripped up again, straightened myself up continued to stagger forward and all the while, God was there.
God’s desire is that our joy and pleasure would come from knowing Him, not the latest, greatest technological advancement. If we truly know Him and seek to please Him, then we will have desires that line up with what He knows will benefit us most.
I believe there is a time coming when time will be no more and a new heaven and new earth will come down from heaven (Revelation 21:1-2).  At that time it will be too late to receive God’s gracious gift of forgiveness for all the sins we have ever committed.  God made us for a purpose. God loves us and desires our praise. We were created and wired to find great pleasure and joy in God’s presence. And for that He will give you the desires of your heart. But guard your heart, for our desires deceive us. Don’t insist on having your own way, yield to the will of God. Until next time, walk with the King and be a blessing!
The NIV translation of the Bible was used today.
1 DELIGHT - Something that gives great pleasure or enjoyment.

2 DESIRE -To wish or long for; want.
