DO NOT CONFORM, TRANSFORM

“Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.” - Romans 12:2 New Living Translation
This world is selfish and corrupt, which is precisely why the Lord, thru the Apostle Paul, warned Roman’s believers not to copy it. God wishes to transform us by the renewing of our minds. The way that takes place is by seeking his will and his way over that of the world. This world tantalizes us by planting ideas in our unsuspecting minds thru various media outlets. It is vital to our spiritual existence to focus on what the Lord deems important rather than what this world does.
If you allow your mind to be reshaped thru knowledge of the gospel, the power of the Holy Spirit and the things to come via prophetic scripture you will as a result renew your mind toward the things of God. The things of this world are temporal, a passing fancy. Only God’s renewal will make you sensitive to discern what his will is in each situation that arises.
Why is it so important for a follower of Christ to know God’s will for them? Because God knows you better than anyone else ever could because he created you. He knows what you are capable of before you were formed in your mother’s womb; however, the only way to achieve your absolute full potential in this life is to seek and submit to the Lord’s will for your life. It is not restrictive, nor is it required but, to find true contentment and fulfillment in this life we must be willing to move toward the Lord and trust him to take us exactly where we will be most productive and fulfilled. Until next time, walk with the King and be a blessing!
