GENEROUSITY SHOWS TRUST

“Good comes to those who lend money generously and conduct their business fairly.”- Psalm 112:5 New Living Translation
Some people misunderstand the Biblical view of money, believing scripture says, “money is the root of all evil”, thus encouraging people to live as paupers. That’s not what scripture says. 1 Timothy 6:10 says, “For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. And some people, craving money, have wandered from the true faith and pierced themselves with many sorrows.” The love of money shows a lack of trust in God who gives and takes away as he so wills. If we dedicate our lives to Christ in all aspects of living then he shall bless us with every blessing with regards to our well being.
Let it be said that there is nothing at all wrong with being wealthy as a Christian. It is more important how you achieved your wealth and what you do with it. If it is accumulated thru ill-gotten means then that would be a sin and displeasing to God. If, however, God has chosen to bless you with wealth, that is another story entirely. Giving generously should be a trademark of believers, in that you are exhibiting your trust that God will meet your need as you help in meeting another’s need. It is to be done with a pure heart with no ungodly motivation.
If you conduct your personal business fairly and lend out as the Spirit of God leads you, you shall never fail. Even when the appearance of failure may rear it’s ugly head, it is a toothless lion, so to speak, in that it can do you no lasting harm. Our hope is in Christ and our faith is in his promises to provide for us. To that end we shall be at peace for the Lord wishes us to succeed even as our soul prospers. Until next time, walk with the King and be a blessing!
