THE HOLY ONE OF GOD

“Lord, to whom would we go? You have the words that give eternal life. We believe, and we know you are the Holy One of God.”John 6:68-69 New Living Translation
There will be times in our lives when we may feel confused and/or alone. At times such as these many tend to seek comfort in new age teachings or philosophies that make us feel good. In reality there is only one place we can turn for lasting peace, comfort and fulfillment and that is Jesus Christ. The above verses represent a time when Jesus’ teaching was perceived by many to be too hard to follow and so many of his followers deserted him at that time. As a means of testing the twelve who remained he asked “Are you also going to leave?” Peter, who typically spoke for all 12 disciples, spoke the words you see at the top.
Frankly, there are many a person could turn to, but Peter is acknowledging what we have also come to know; that Jesus Christ, Son of God, is the way, the truth and the life. They had seen him heal, heard him teach and saw him be the physical embodiment of God’s love toward men. We are greatly blessed because we believe yet have not had the benefit of sight and sound. Our faith has been credited to us as righteousness.
No matter where you go, God goes with you. No matter what situation you find yourself, he is there in the midst of it with you. Others of this earth can be with you as well, but only Almighty God can change the entire situation around you with one single word. Never let your faith fade. Never allow your trust in God to wane. He is the giver of eternal life and nothing this side of heaven can top that. Until next time, walk with the King and be a blessing!
