SEASON YOUR CONVERSATIONS WITH GRACE

Colossians 4:5-6 NLT
“Live wisely among those who are not believers, and make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be gracious and attractive so that you will have the right response for everyone.”
We must understand in our attempts to win the lost for Christ that our way of thinking and our special Christian jargon are completely foreign to those outside the faith.  We must become relatable without softening the message. There is never any need to scold, judge or chastise someone outside our faith, for we haven’t been called to do that. During his ministry years Jesus never blasted the non-believers, he unloaded on the religious leaders and others who should know better than to act as they did.
To the non-believers he showed his humanity. He should them mercy and comforted them. He healed them of their sicknesses and even raised some from the dead. The religious leaders couldn’t have been more contrary regarding these things if they tried. It seemed as though everything Jesus said and did was against some religious law. The laws they said Jesus broke were not God’s laws, but the additional restrictive and binding laws that the Pharisees tacked onto God’s law to keep control over their people.
The key to having a winning witness and a testimony that honors the Lord is to imitate Christ in all areas of your life. I’ve been trying, but it’s difficult. There’s too much human in me to excel, but I’m working on it. It’s my goal to have people notice something very different about me when they see me. People have often been drawn to me thru the years and for that I credit the Lord. Ask God to show you how to exercise humility and become selfless in a world of incredible self-absorption. He will answer that request … I guarantee it. Until next time, walk with the King and be a blessing!
