When is a sin no longer a sin? Apparently it’s when man says so. It’s easy to reject God and Christ and call it a myth or a fairy tale. It’s also easy to turn your back on him after a time serving him because you think God is unjust and/or tyrannical in nature. The Bible just becomes another book and believing it makes you the subject of ridicule. The Bible is very clear as to what angers Almighty God (Proverbs 6:16-19). We believers have categories for the enemies of the cross: Atheists, Agnostics, Anti-theists and last but not least, Apostates; those brethren who have decided God was no longer worthy of their allegiance.
The truth of the matter, in my humble opinion, is that members of those groups either have no interest in finding out if Christianity is true or not or are just afraid we might be right and they don’t want us to be right. It’s sad to me that people will try just about anything to find freedom from the guilt associated with their lifestyle, but they will not consider Jesus Christ as an option. To them his name is just another curse word.
God’s rules are universal in that they easily apply to all of humanity. Man cannot set up the rules for living this life because we are tainted and scarred both mentally and emotionally. Our prejudices and preconceived notions make us poor candidates for establishing rules that are fair for everyone, even those people groups we take issue with.
Listen, there either is a God or there isn’t. You can choose to believe whatever you like. If there is no God then when we die we’ll never have another conscious thought and never know if there was a God or not. If there IS a God who created every living thing in existence, then we will all be standing before him one day. It’s a meeting we cannot avoid. People will say some of the most ridiculous things at times, like “Yeah, well when I get to see God I’m going to tell him a thing or two.” If the end of the Book of Job is any indication, it will be an “I will talk, you will listen” type of scenario, with God doing the talking as we stand in jaw dropping awe at his glory and majesty. If you are a lukewarm believer, better thing twice about your relationship with the Lord. It will not go well for those who are not part of God’s intimate family after time is no more. Be very careful how you choose. Some people are scared to death about the spreading of the Corona Virus, but I tell you that virus cannot cast your soul into an everlasting hell. I’m not saying people should fear God in the sense of being afraid, but fear God in a sense of awe and reverential respect for who he is. Until next time, walk with the King and be a blessing! rlkeller
Proverbs 6:16-19 New Living Translation
There are six things the Lord hates—
no, seven things he detests:
haughty* eyes,
a lying tongue,
hands that kill the innocent,
a heart that plots evil,
feet that race to do wrong,
a false witness who pours out lies,
a person who sows discord in a family.
* arrogant, condescendingly proud.
