“The Lord will keep you from all harm— he will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.”- Psalm 121:7-8 NIV
This Psalm is one of the “Songs of Ascent”. It is one of a collection of 15 (Psalm 120-134) that are generally accepted to be sung by the Jewish pilgrims who were going up to Jerusalem for the three required festivals. *
The general tenor of the writing is one of encouragement. In the face of the Pandemic we are going thru right now, verses 7-8 should give us peace and hope. They speak of His Omniscience, meaning that He is All-Knowing. Verse 2 of this Psalm speaks of His creation. Verse 3 tells the reader God will not allow us to stumble for He knows where we are at all times. It then says you’ll never catch him napping or inattentive.
Not matter what may happen in your life, good or bad, the Lord has either caused or allowed it for a very specific reason. We must trust that not only is His word true and faithful, but that what God says He means and will accomplish in His perfect timing. Don’t every doubt the Lord. His love for you is far greater than anyone else’s ever could be. He died for you and by that death washed away all your sins. Wow! Isn’t that awesome! Yes, because we serve an awesome God! Until next time, walk with the King and be a blessing.
