“Oh,
how great are God’s riches and wisdom and knowledge! How impossible it is for
us to understand his decisions and his ways!” Romans 11:33 NLT
While it’s true that what God does can
be outside our mental grasp, we can know that whatever He’s doing will be for
our greatest good. We are not asked to understand, we are only asked to trust. The Lord speaks thru the prophet Isaiah when He says
in Ch.55 v8, "My
thoughts are nothing like your thoughts and my ways are far beyond anything you
could imagine.”
Being
asked to trust begs the question, “Is God
trustworthy?” We need to refer to scripture to prove our point
regarding the trustworthiness of the Lord.
Psalm
118:8 reads “It is better to trust in the
Lord than to put confidence in man.” Psalm 22:4 says, “Our ancestors trusted in you and you rescued them.” Psalm 9:10 tells us, “Those who know
your name trust in you, for you, O Lord, do not abandon those who search for
you.” And finally
Deuteronomy 32:4 declares, “He is the
Rock; his deeds are perfect. Everything
he does is just and fair. He is a faithful God who does no wrong; how just and
upright he is!” Although this isn’t an exhaustive search, God’s word
does show the importance of trust. Men
trust God and God has proven down thru the ages to be worthy of that trust.
The
Lord’s wisdom and knowledge are so much higher than ours; why on earth would we
ever question Him? We don’t know the future, nor do we know the motivations
that drive men’s hearts. God knows all things that can be known. He
is like a trusted guide who knows uncharted terrain like the back of His hand.
God is that one who can provide for and sustain us at all times. His Holy
Spirit provides direction and comfort when it is needed. Trust the Lord,
for He is without question trustworthy. Until next time, walk with the King and
be a blessing!
