“All
praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is by his great mercy
that we have been born again, because God raised Jesus Christ from the dead.”
- 1 Peter 1:3 New Living Translation
Our feeling about the redemptive
power of God is amplified once we fully comprehend that it comes not from
anything we have done or could do, but by his loving initiative alone. His undeserved
favor or grace has allowed us to bask in the glow of his forgiveness. We have
been spiritually reborn.
His mercy,
which is also largely undeserved, reveals to us a hope that will not perish. We
may snuff it out in our own heart, but it never truly dies. Our hope lies in
Christ and since he is eternal, our hope is as well.
Our spiritual
rebirth was made possible by the death of the perfect Son of God. His blood
cleansed us from all sin. That is where our greatest hope lies; in Christ’s
blood and as a result, our eternity with him. For that our Lord should be praised,
glorified and honored by the way we live our lives each day. Until next time,
walk with the King and be a blessing!
