“Show
me your ways, Lord, teach me your paths. Guide me in your truth and
teach me, for you are God my Savior and my hope is in you all day long.” – Psalm
25:4-5 New
Living Translation
The
key to having a deeper walk with the Lord is to desire it and then express that
desire to him. God is a gentleman. He never forces himself on anyone, but waits
patiently for us to get to the place where we realize we cannot live without
him. His teachings are readily available
and are found in his word, the Bible. The Lord is a fountain of endless
knowledge. It is our responsibility to dig into the meat of his word. Immerse
yourself in the things of God and your faith will be strengthened and as a
result you will be blessed.
This happens to be a Davidic Psalm. In it he
acknowledges both that Almighty God is his Savior and his hope. He chose to save us by the blood of his own
Son and stands as a beacon of hope for all who would choose to partake of his
merciful grace.
The lessons administered by the Lord need
not be difficult if you are committed to them. During the course of your
learning you will undoubtedly have questions. You would be no different than
Job or Jonah from the Old Testament. Just because you have questions doesn’t
always mean you will receive answers. Your relationship with God is based on
faith and trust, not on the answers we receive to our questions. He owes no one
any explanations and typically doesn’t give any. But he will teach you his ways
and patiently mold you into the best you you could ever be. Until next time,
walk with the King and be a blessing!
