Tomorrow
“God called the light ‘day’, and the darkness he called ‘night’. And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day.”- Genesis 1:5
I’m happy to report to you that no matter what has happened to you today, there’s always another day … a new day; a clean slate day; a day where everything is fresh and bright and yesterday is history. I believe all things happen for a reason. I believe God is aware of everything that happens in His universe; every single thing. I believe that God is in ultimate control of all things because, simply put, if He were not, He couldn’t possibly be who He says He is. The scriptures are clear; He is all-knowing, all-seeing and all-powerful. How can a created being know more, see more and be stronger than its creator? It’d be impossible.
Every negative event in my life has come with a lesson attached to it. It was my job to be quiet and attentive so that I might determine what God was trying to teach me. So many believers spend their time griping and complaining about the terrible events that have befallen them, when they could be learning how to be more like their Heavenly Father. I’ve spent my fair share of time belly aching about this or that and have gotten quite angry at times as well, I’m embarrassed to admit. Fortunately, once the dust settled, I allowed myself to calm down and it was then that I was able to seek God regarding the matter.
We live in a broken and sin sick world. Bad things happen to good people all the time; but good people are able to rise above the chaos of this world, thanks to the peace that God provides. Unfortunately, because we are not perfect, we will stumble and fall many more times throughout the remainder of our lives. If we learn our lessons well we will not have a repeat performance in the future.
Have you done something you feel is unforgivable? Are you involved in something you know you shouldn’t be? There’s hope for you my friend. There is peace to be found, but it can only be found in one place … in the arms of God. He casts no stones. He offers a free pardon. All He asks in exchange is your surrender to His will. It’s both the hardest thing you will ever have to do and the easiest as well. Once you realize that it’s not all about you, but that there is something and someone that is much bigger than you, it becomes easy to surrender. You cannot defeat the enemy alone, but with Christ you can be victorious in all things each and every day; so always remember tomorrow is a new day. Until next time, walk with the King and be a blessing!
