The Miracles of Jesus

Today we will begin taking a look at the Miracles of Jesus.

Introduction

This look at Jesus’ miracles is designed to show the reader that God is real, that He loves us and that He wants to restore us to an abundant life. We know that the most important thing in the Christian faith is the fact that Jesus, being the Son of God, was born of a virgin, grew up, ministered for 3 years as an adult. The culmination of his life is found with his horrific death on a cross for you and me. That death took place as a means of cleansing us all from our sins; forgiveness was found thru his blood.

Being endued with divine power from on high, Jesus didn’t simply heal a chosen few, but rather healed ALL who had come to him. Multitudes of people from Israel and surrounding nations came to Jesus seeking a healing from their various ailments, handicaps, and diseases. The Gospel of Matthew chronicles the fact that ALL were healed several times in its’ text (Matthew 8:16, 12:15, 14:14, 19:2, & 21:14). To the best of my knowledge, we don’t see that type of healing being done today, where each and every individual is miraculously made whole. That whole scenario is for another discussion, but let’s instead focus on Jesus himself. There are at least 37 miraculous healings by Jesus in the Gospels.

God heals. What he has done for those back in Jesus’ day he is still able to do today. God does what pleases Him. I refuse to believe that it pleases Him to see his children suffer, however, nothing done by God has no meaning. Everything that transpires in this life does so for a specific reason. We don’t need to understand, we only need to shed ourselves of our unbelief and trust our Lord. We will start with our look at the miracles this coming Tuesday, July 5th. My prayer for you all is that God richly bless you and your entire family. Until next time, walk with the King and be a blessing.

In his name & for his glory,

Richard Keller
