Jeremiah 23:24 New Living Translation
“Can anyone hide from me in a secret place? Am I not
everywhere in all the heavens and earth?” says the Lord.
How big is the God you worship? Is he localized and limited or is he what
scripture says of him, that he is omnipresent and omnipotent? Omnipresence is embodied in the question God
asks in the second statement in verse 24.
Is there anywhere in heaven and all of earth, places he created, where
he is not? This ends up being a good/bad
thing. Good for those whom he calls his
children and bad for those who are outside the family of God.
The believer
can take solace in the fact that God is all places in the same instant and is
powerful enough to do whatever it takes to accomplish his own will. He is also powerful enough to fulfill his
promises to us. The non-believer needs
to take this verse as a solemn warning.
There is nowhere to hide where God cannot find you. As a matter of fact, he doesn’t even have to
look, for he knows where you are going even before you have gone.
People wish to
see God, then they will believe. They
wish to have a multitude of questions answered so they can believe. Faith is not sight. Faith is blind to that which surrounds
us. Faith sees with spiritual eyes what
mortal men can never see. Faith trusts
God at his word and in spite of any circumstance leans heavily on that which
they have come to believe. God is here,
he is there and he is everywhere working those things together for the good of
his children and for his own glory. He
will not show himself directly, but indirectly thru his creation. His way of revealing himself takes spiritual
eyes to see the heaven that is present.
Take comfort that there is nothing he is unaware of and rejoice. Until next time, walk with the King and be a
blessing!
