Psalm
47:7-8 New Living Translation
“For God is the King over all the earth. Praise him with a
psalm. God reigns above the
nations, sitting on his holy throne.”
While the Lord
never stopped the Bible writers from attempting to describe him, mere words
could never do him justice. He is
indefinable in human terms. Even the
words we use seem inadequate. However, that should never stop us from telling
others what he has done for us. Paying
the ransom owed for our souls was the most important thing he has done. Once redeemed it would no doubt take volumes
to jot down all the things he has done for us, some things without us even
being aware of it until after it has taken place.
We will never
know all there is to know about Almighty God, but that is no reason that should
prevent us from telling others what we do know about him. They claim ‘word of mouth’ advertising is the most effective type of marketing. We do that every time we tell someone what
the Lord has done for us or for someone we know. People that know us will sit up and
listen. Those that walk away ignoring
our testimony can never say to God on the final day that they were never
told.
All the various governments of the world
believe they have control over their actions, but scripture tells us “God reigns above the nations”. God can
intervene at any time to change the course of history. Christ is coming again. Trim your lamps and make
sure you have enough oil, for he shall come when you least expect it [Matthew 25:1-13]. Until next time, walk with the King and be a
blessing!
