WHO, WHAT, WHEN, WHY & HOW?
There is
much speculation as to when Jesus was born. Some hold fast to the December 25th
date. Others feel it couldn’t be in winter since shepherds don’t take the sheep
out in the fields in the dead of winter. Or do they? It must have been in the
summer months. Was he born in a long
open trough for horses or cattle to eat from, better known as a ‘manger’? Some
believe the manger was hewn from the stone wall of a cave where they stayed as
opposed to the warm inviting scene depicted in nativity portrayals . The
controversy caused by supposed misinformation and contradictions only feeds the
fire started by CINO’s* and non-believers alike as a means of casting doubt on
the one thing that can save them.
The one
thing Christians agree on is that Jesus came. What time of year and in what
type of place he was born becomes irrelevant in the light of God’s truth that a
virgin was to give birth to a son who was to be called Immanuel, God with
us.
When it
comes to Almighty God, isn’t it far better to accept that which you cannot
explain and let the Holy Spirit confirm things as you go? Think on those things
that matter most. Until next time, walk with the King and be a blessing!
