“Above
all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the
prophet’s own interpretation of things. For prophecy
never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from
God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.” 2 Peter 1:20-21
Many folks believe that
since the scriptures were written by men the Bible must be flawed. Because they don’t have a true belief in God
they look for reasons to justify their unbelief. It doesn’t matter that these authors were
prophets who were the vehicles Almighty God chose to use to speak His word to
mortal man. They remain hung up on the
fact that they are only men and not God Himself.
For those who choose not to believe Jesus Himself could come down today
in bodily form and speak to them directly and they would still find some reason
not to believe.
Jesus did come in the form of a baby over
2000 years ago. People of faith saw Him as God’s answer to the Old Testament
prophecies and promises made regarding a Messiah or Anointed One who would
cleanse man of all his sins. Many chose
not to accept Him and that was their right.
Those that shun God as a myth or fairy tale have the right to do so as
well. This is solely because the Lord
created us with a free will to belief as we choose. Some will choose to believe in Christ as
their Messiah, Lord and Savior, others will see it as a crutch for weak willed,
weak minded people. Sadly, some folks will never accept the truth for what it
is. They would rather live in a world
where they have created a comfort zone that suits them just fine. Stepping into the unknown world of faith is
something they are not interested in doing.
For those who embrace Christ and believe whole heartedly
that Almighty God is very real and has a plan for their life this side of
heaven, every day is a blessing. We should
live our lives as a praise offering to Him each day and look for ways to share
our faith with the help of the Holy Spirit.
If you have placed their faith and allegiance in Christ, rejoice, for
your eternal reward draws near. Until
next time, walk with the King and be a blessing!
