“I urge, then, first of all,
that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people —
for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives
in all godliness and holiness. This is
good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come
to a knowledge of the truth.” 1 Timothy 2:1-4
Did you know that we are not only to pray, but we are to
pray for those in positions of authority and also for those we don’t like? If you truly believe that God is above all
and in control of all things, then it would be wise to do just that; pray for
our government leaders and those we are at odds with. The Lord can change the hearts and minds of
any man if they are willing to be changed.
If they are not they do so to their own peril.
We are called to live godly and holy lives. What is a godly
life? One that submits to the Lord in
devoted obedience. We are to live our
lives in awe and reverence to our Maker Who knows our weaknesses and yet still
loves us without condition. We are to
also thank God for our life. Each day I
wake up and am still breathing is a good day.
I may have physical issues or situational problems to deal with, but I
am alive and well and have a new chance to make some sort of difference for God
in someone else’s life. When I close
each devotional with “Walk with the King and be a blessing” I mean that quite
literally. Walk with your Lord and
Savior each day you have life on this earth and seek to be blessed of God so
that you might share those blessings with others.
There are some folks in this life that we may not get along
with. We may not care for them one little bit.
You know what, God made them too and He loves them just the same as He
loves you. Have you ever thought that
you might have been placed in their life to make a difference? You may think someone deserves to go to hell
for the way they have treated you, but frankly, we all deserve nothing more than
hell fire and damnation. It’s only the
grace of God that allows us to be heaven
bound. Change your way of thinking
regarding those you don’t like. God
doesn’t wish that any would perish,
but that all would come to the saving knowledge of Christ (2 Peter 3:9). That includes your least favorite person in
the world. Until next time, walk with
the King and be a blessing!
