“Therefore,
since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our
Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace
in which we now stand.” Romans
5:1-2a
How exciting it is to know that our faith has freed us from
all guilt and the penalty associated with our past sin. We all know what faith is. It believes in something or someone without
the benefit of an experiential encounter.
We believe without having seen just as if we could see it. In this case we believe in a spiritual deity
referred to as Jehovah. That belief
should have revolutionized our life.
Through our belief we have achieved a reconciliation or peace with
God. Christ became the bridge that
closed the gap between Creator and His creation. Because we’ve made peace with God we have
access into His presence. The wall of separation
has been taken down. This is no tenuous truce as with warfare. It represents
permanent reparation between God and man.
The grace of God is His divine favor. Though we are undeserving of it, we receive
it due to the Lord’s mercy and understanding that we come from dust and to dust
we shall return (Genesis 3:19). If we
are serious about our walk with Christ we shall continue to stand in His
grace. If we go our own way, His favor,
which still exists toward us, will not be realized because we will not be
seeking His will. It’s a sad thing to
not fully utilize all the blessings and gifts that God has given us. Yet scripture is clear that man will many
times go a way that seems right to him never realizing the end result of the
path they have chosen until it is too late (Proverbs 14:12 & 16:25).
Yield to the will of God and enjoy all the blessings He has
set aside for you. Accept the rough
patches as learning tools to help grow your faith and as a result your trust
and reliance on your Lord. He knows what
He’s doing. His track record is perfect,
just as He is. Until next time, walk
with the King and be a blessing!
