MORALLY DEFICIENT

“The fool* says in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, their deeds are vile; there is no one who does good.”  Psalm 14:1
When given the opportunity, man will choose the easy, more pleasurable option.  Scripture is very clear; there is no one in all of creation that does good on his own.  ‘Doing good’ is a relative term.  What is good in the eyes of mortal man may still be in opposition to God’s law. Take the laws that are being passed that give homosexuals the right to marry and have all the legal rights of a heterosexual couple.  This has been deemed a wonderful and good thing, yet it is distinctly against God’s law.  Living in sin cuts you off from God and His blessings.
Moral deficiency is rampant in the world today.  Man does what is right and good in his own eyes and because their efforts succeed they thank God, even though God had no part in it.  Those that follow God’s word and seek to emulate Christ with their life look to God for inspiration and guidance in all things.  Those outside the faith do not.  Many seek God’s face when they are in dire straits, yet forget who He is when their ship is righted and they are sailing at full speed once again.  It doesn’t work that way.  Christianity is a lifestyle.  It’s not going to church every time the doors are open.  That’s something a Christian does.  It’s how we live our life that matters to God.  Do we seek to be a reflection of all that God is or do we wing it thinking we can live for Christ without the Holy Spirit’s intervention and help.  We fool ourselves if we think living for Christ is a cakewalk.  It is not.  Far too many people think they are doing just fine with the Lord, yet are walking in the shadows rather than in the light.
Know the word of God.  Seek to serve Christ and do what pleases Him rather than what pleases yourself.  God will not cheat you.  He knows what will benefit you the most in this life.  Trust Him to do just that.  Until next time, walk with the King and be a blessing!

* The Hebrew words rendered fool in Psalms denote one who is morally deficient.
