AVOID EVIL & DO GOOD

Does anyone want to live a life that is long and prosperous? Then keep your tongue from speaking evil and your lips from telling lies! Turn away from evil and do good. Search for peace, and work to maintain it. The eyes of the Lord watch over those who do right; his ears are open to their cries for help. But the Lord turns his face against those who do evil; he will erase their memory from the earth.” Psalm 34:12-16 New Living Translation
The actions promoted in the above verses are the result of fearing the Lord. Not being afraid of the Lord, but fearing him out of love and reverence. Those that revere the Lord God will do as he says for his standard for living is what will work for your ultimate good.
Don’t repay evil for evil, but rather seek peace and strive to keep it. God is watching. He sees all the evil at play in the world today and I’m sure, while it’s not a surprise to him, it still breaks his heart. We mustn’t contribute to the evil that is running rampant, but speak blessings to those who would war against us. He hears the cries of his children and tends to their needs. Those who know not the Lord are dead spiritually and whether conscience or not, are against what he stands for. For those who strive against the Lord and never turn to him for forgiveness, their existence will be blotted out and remembered no more.
Knowing that God will honor those who serve him is comforting, but honor is not why we serve. We serve him because he is the truth and knowing him is a blessing far greater than anything this world could ever offer. Until next time, walk with the King and be a blessing!
