Faith Makes It Possible
“… without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.”- Hebrews 11:6
According to the writer of Hebrews, we cannot please God without faith. Now scripture says that if we have faith the size of a mustard seed (which is a tiny seed about the size of a pin head), we could move mountains. That means we aren’t speaking of a huge amount of faith when it comes to pleasing Almighty God. Having faith is defined in this verse as accepting the existence of the unseen God as true. We must also understand that we will be rewarded by God if we seriously seek Him with deep abiding determination.
The whole idea about serving God is wrapped up in whatever level of faith we may have. As mentioned above, a tiny amount is all that is needed. It’s the same as the fact that only one drop of blood from Christ is needed to save a sin sick soul. It’s God’s desire that we worship and serve Him. How? There are many ways to be of service to the Lord. We can ascertain that information through prayer. God wants us to know what our gifts and talents are, for they’re given to each of us to use for His glory. Those that use God’s gifts for personal gain, shirking their responsibility to the gift giver, shall find nothing but heartache in the end. Obedience is the key to contentment in this life and is the result of realizing what gifts He has given you and where He may want to use those gifts. Being compliant is critical to being used. A submissive spirit breeds healthy results.
Knowing that nothing is impossible in the economy of God should encourage us that pleasing Him is truly notimpossible if we will simply yield to His Holy Spirit and submit to His will for us. The enemy of our soul wants us to fail miserably. He lurks around every corner (figuratively speaking), waiting for an opportunity to trip us up in our quest to serve God. Understand this, unless you give the devil a foothold, he can do nothing to you that God doesn’t allow. Why would God allow the devil to have his way with you? There are a variety of reasons why, but know this, any reason would involve your growing in faith and ultimately being blessed in the end. God is your Heavenly Father; He loves you without conditions. Accept that truth and be free to please Him. Until next time, walk with the King and be a blessing! rlkeller
