Ever notice how some people feel that they are above the law. I knew someone years back who used to make friends with local cops and state troopers so that when he got speeding tickets they would take care of them for him. The Bible clearly states that no one is innocent. There is no “fixing” what we have done. We are guilty … every one of us. If it weren’t so then why on earth would Christ go to the cross. It obviously wasn’t for the fun of it.
The good news is that the payment that Christ made on that cross, when cashed in, makes it “just as if I’d never sinned”. That is what justification is. Our slate is wiped clean. Sometimes I wonder if I fully appreciate what was done for me. Have you ever wondered that? Without being there to see it for ourselves, could we ever feel the weight of the full impact of what was done FOR us? Perhaps not. For now though we should love God and seek to serve Him to the best of our human abilities … and appreciate Him and what He has done to redeem us.
