times in the TNIV translation of the Bible, all being in the OT, either God Himself or His deeds were
referred to as AWESOME. Today, in
our culture, anything can be awesome from the morning’s oatmeal, to a first
date, to a vacation. I have a question: Have we trivialized the word “awesome”?
God parted the Red Sea and it was AWESOME
… a miraculous event. How does that truly compare to a first kiss or a
movie we just saw? I too have fallen into the trap of using the “slang” term
awesome to describe my day or the weather.
Perhaps
we should ascribe such a descriptive adjective to God alone and nothing or no
one else. Wouldn’t that be AWESOME!!
