“Dear brothers and sisters, when
troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy.
For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to
grow.” James 1:2-3
How
many times have you uttered the words, “Why does this always happen to me?” I
happen to believe that everything happens for a specific purpose. God wastes no
opportunity to teach us something and the difficulties we go thru are meant to
bolster our faith. We mustn’t reflect on
the negative aspect of the thing, nor are we to become depressed over it. We need to retool our thinking. If God either causes or allows all things
that take place in his created universe, then we have nothing to be apprehensive
about. As children of God we need to
cease the moment and realize that God is at work in that situation whether we
sense him there or not.
Some folks
have the mistaken notion that once they surrender their life to Christ their
life is about to become problem free.
Nothing could be further from the truth.
Problems are nothing more than obstacles to be climbed over or gotten
around. With the leading of the Holy
Spirit there is nothing we cannot overcome.
As we grow
in our faith the tests may become a little more difficult. I’ve walked with the Lord for nearly 37 years
and I am here to tell you that while the difficulty of the tests ramped up
incrementally in relationship to our walk with Christ, God was always there to
comfort and guide. Friends, God knows
exactly what he’s doing. Isis doesn’t
scare God, nor do atheists or anything else that might choose to come against
him thru his people. There is nothing
that can defeat our God, therefore, regardless of what may befall us going
forward, the Lord is with us and in
us and will never leave or forsake us … ever.
Rejoice for you are loved by a creator God who proves that love by
testing us so we can grow spiritually.
Until next time, walk with the King and be a blessing!
