WHY CHRIST CAME

(Jesus) continued, “You are from below; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world. I told you that you would die in your sins; if you do not believe that I am he, you will indeed die in your sins.John 8:23-24
There is a way to heaven that men know not of. It is the only way to heaven. It is through Jesus Christ. Those who embrace the grace of God and live according to His word as it appears in the Bible shall live forever. Jesus lays it out very plainly here in the gospel of John. Jesus states clearly that He is not from this earth, the same earth He created. This world is inhabited by beings God created. Jesus was sent to this earth in the form of a created being for the benefit of the other created beings. They saw Him as one of their own until He revealed to them His true nature. He was one with the Father. He was not of this world. He lays out the plan: believe in me or die in your sins. He had taken all the guess work out of it. For that time in history the Son of God showed Himself so that the trust of the people was placed in what they could see. It wasn’t faith, per se, because by its very definition faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. (Hebrews 11:1).
When Jesus states that they are from below, He is not saying that they are from hell, but rather the earth, which is below heaven. We are all very much of this world. We are influenced by it and as believers in Christ struggle against it. This world is at odds with anything that is linked to God. Satan, the prince of the power of the air (Ephesians 2:2), has seen to it that the world would embrace that which tickles their fancy. That which is of this world will eventually wear you out and grind you under its heel. Most do not come to this realization until it is too late. Christ died for sinners. He didn’t do it for Himself … He didn’t do it for the fun of it; He did it because He knew mankind could never pay the sin debt they had accumulated. It’s as if someone gave you a check for one million dollars, only you cannot put a value on the price Christ paid. Nothing this side of heaven will ever equate to what Christ willingly did for each of us. Allow that knowledge to change your life.
