“But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ.” … “Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household, … .” – Ephesians 2:13,19
The Jews were God’s chosen people and still are to this very day; however, it was due to their rejection of Christ as the Messiah that the non-Jew or Gentile was able to enter into the family of God. Since God knows all things, He had foreknowledge of the Jews rejection. He knew that they were as described in scripture, a stubborn and stiff-necked people (Exodus 32:9; Acts 7:51). The olive root is symbolic for God, the olive branches are those who believe. Romans 11:17-24 tells of Jews who because of their unbelief were broken off. As believers today, we should never become arrogant because of our right standing with God, for as scripture declares, “… if God did not spare the natural branches, he will not spare you either.” Living for God should be considered a privilege. Always remember and never forget that God loved us prior to our even acknowledging His existence.
Until next time, walk with the King and be a blessing!
