“Do
not deceive yourselves. If any of you think you are wise by the standards of
this age, you should become “fools” so that you may become wise. For the wisdom
of this world is foolishness in God’s sight.”
1 Corinthians 3:18-19
In scripture we are told not to be wise
in our own eyes (Proverbs 3:7). So many
have ignored the calling of God by supposing that such belief is for the weak
minded and those in need of a crutch.
Those who think themselves so incredibly wise will be dumbfounded on the
last day. Their jaws will drop and for
once they will have nothing to say. This
world is temporal and void of any true wisdom or knowledge. Our finite minds cannot possibly comprehend
the glory and majesty of an Almighty Supreme Spiritual being. Those who refuse
to believe allow themselves to accept as true those things that seem to empower
or elevate them (as with Scientology).
They will not allow themselves to be subjugated to anyone on earth or
heaven. In all their wisdom they think
themselves greater than their creator by simply dismissing His existence as a
myth or fairy tale.
Those who embrace such a belief as
truth have found the wisdom God provides.
It is there for the asking. We
only need accept that we don’t know it all and be willing to surrender our will
to the One True Living God. While we are
referred to in scripture as slaves, we are actually the ones who are the most
free, for we have the plentiful resources of God to draw from. We are given the ability to find peace in the
face of turmoil. Direction when we are
lost. Mercy when we make a mistake. Hope when we feel all is lost. Healing when we are sick. Patience when we are the most impatient.
God is real to those who choose to believe in Him. He isn’t a myth or fairy tale, but rather a loving Heavenly Father who cared enough to pay our sin debt for us so that we might enjoy the riches of knowing Him in a very intimate way. Do you enjoy such an intimate and personal relationship with God? You can. It’s there for the asking. Until next time, walk with the King and be a blessing!
