LIVE HIS WORD

“You have commanded that your guiding principles be carefully followed.”Psalm 119:4 God’s Word Translation
There is more to life as a believer in Christ than just faith and belief. That’s where it all starts, but if you are going to live a spiritually prosperous life in this dying world you will need a standard to follow.  This particular translation has the verse in what I would consider a more correct rendering. Some translations almost treat this verse like it’s a suggestion or something we ought to do. This translation uses the word “commanded” which properly shows us the authority of God. Since he created us from dust he has authority over us, if we are willing to submit to him. He doesn’t force himself or his will on anyone. In the age of grace, we find ourselves in God’s favor. That doesn’t lessen his authority or the fact that he has commanded that his principles be followed, but it does allow us to choose whether to serve him or not.
If you are serious about living a Christ-like life you must divest yourself of those worldly things that encumber you and invest in that which will usher you into eternity with the Lord. His words are faithful and true. They are the standard that you can count on to guide you thru the mazes of life. Read his word. Live his word. Seek his guidance. Listen to his Holy Spirit. It’s what the Lord expects from all of us who call ourselves Christ’s followers.  Until next time, walk with the King and be a blessing!

NOTE: It is thought that this longest Psalm was written by Jewish priest and scribe Ezra.
