“Blessed is the person who does not follow the advice of
wicked people, take the path of sinners, or join the company of mockers.
Rather, he delights in the teachings of the Lord and reflects on his teachings
day and night.”
Psalm 1:1-2 God’s Word Translation
There
are plenty of people who make fun of God and those who follow him. Ignorance
appears to be bliss to them, but in reality, ignorance just confirms their own
death sentence. Some people will never come to the light. They will never yield
to anything or anyone whom they perceive want to control them.
I once heard a comedian tell the story of
when he was walking down a crowded sidewalk in New York City and happened to
tell someone to “have a nice day”, to which the man spun around and replied
loudly, “DON’T TELL ME WHAT TO DO!” As funny as it may sound, that pretty much
is the crux of it with some folks.
Believers in Christ do best when they
follow the instructions for living laid out in the Bible. We should delight in
God’s teachings and carry them in our soul, heart and mind each day. That is
how we perform God’s will for our life and become a wonderful blessing to those
around us. As they see us in all our flawed wonder, living for something far
greater than themselves, they may just want to be a part of what we are portraying.
God does the saving; we are the conduits. Until next time, walk with the King
and be a blessing!
