“My son, do not forget my teaching, but keep my
commands in your heart, for they will prolong your life many years and bring
you prosperity.” – Proverbs 3:1-2 NIV … “Beloved, I pray that you may
prosper in all things and be in health just as your soul prospers.” – 3 John 1:2 NKJV
I feel that these two verses speak of what
prosperity means in God’s economy. The prospering of our soul is far more
important to God than honoring our financial prosperity. There’s nothing at all
wrong with amassing wealth, but the key questions to be asked in response to
that are how did you get it
& what are you doing with it?
Are you hording it for yourself or are you putting it to work
for God’s kingdom?
God isn’t at all
interested in money. We need it to
sustain our existence, but God has everything at his disposal, so I’m certain
he doesn’t give it a second thought. He is more interested in the condition of
our soul.
Believers in
Christ have been given a ‘do over’ in
life. We should always be striving to use our time and talents as a blessing to
others. We should always be seeking to be more like Christ is every way. Seek
to bless those around you for no other reason than that you can. It’s the only
suitable response for all the blessings God has bestowed upon you. Until
next time, walk with the King and be a blessing!
