“This is what the Lord says— your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: “I am the Lord your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go.” - Isaiah 48:17
This verse is both comforting and revealing. Solomon points out in Proverbs 14:12 and again in 16:25 “There is a way that seems right to a man,
but its end is the way of death.” Isaiah confirms to us as believers that God is, in fact, the One who teaches us the correct way to go in life and unequivocally knows that which is best for us. The catch is that we must be paying attention. We must not merely being listening, but actually hearing so that change might occur in our lives. God knows what He’s doing all the time and it is advantageous for us to tap into His limitless knowledge and live lives that reflect His glory. Living on our own will cause us to waste time traveling down wrong paths. Perking up our ears to hear and then abide by God’s directives will keep us on the path His has chosen for us. Until next time, walk with the King and be a blessing!
