“Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the LORD is kept safe.” – Proverbs 29:25
The writer of Psalm 56 declares on verse 4 that their trust is in Almighty God; “What can mere mortals do to me?” The frank and honest answer to that question is ‘nothing’. If you happen to believe that everything that takes place in this universe is either caused or allowed by God then there is nothing that can happen to any of us without God’s intimate knowledge. To not be in control of all things would make God less than He says He is. That would be a contradiction that would invalidate Christianity as a belief system. But if you choose to believe all that God says He is according to scripture, then you will begin to understand over time that while bad things do happen to good people, those people have the unlimited resources of God to draw from. So do not fear what any man can do to you. Trust in the Lord for He is your Heavenly Father; He formed you in your mother’s womb and therefore, can be trusted to keep you safe.
