“‘I, even I, am the Lord, and apart from me there is no savior. I have revealed and saved and proclaimed— I, and not some foreign god among you. You are my witnesses,’ declares the Lord, ‘that I am God.’” - Isaiah 43:11-12
During the Babylonian exile, the Jews were exposed to foreign gods. The temptation to abandon their faith in Jehovah God and serve those gods must have been constant. Through the prophet Isaiah they are told that there is no other deity coming who shall save them. It is Jehovah, the great I AM that saves and no one else. He declares that He is God. He reminds them that they are witnesses to His power and might. God is the only salvation available to them.
For us today, the same holds true. Christ came to save us from our sins and from our own destructive tendencies. To NOT serve Him is to decide that we have a better way. There is nothing we can do to save ourselves. Christ is the answer. God has seen to that. Our free will allows us to choose; however, the choices we make come with consequences. Make sure you choose correctly for your future hangs in the balance. Surrender your will over to God today. Until next time, walk with the King and be a blessing!
