“Therefore,
there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through
Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law
of sin and death.” (Romans 8:1-2)
You
have to know that the devil will condemn you for every illicit thought you
think, every inappropriate word you say and every unnecessary action you
take. Paul points out to the Roman
believers that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. The law has been fulfilled by virtue of His death. The Spirit of God gives life. God created us so He understands why we think,
say and do the things we do. It doesn’t make some of those things okay, but at
least we stand without condemnation.
The key to this whole thing is to seek forgiveness, learn from your mistakes and move forward in your effort to become more like Christ. A believer must take a long, hard look at themselves and decide if that is their true goal in this life. To live for self is a lonely, empty road that leads nowhere. Living for God and for others leads to peace, satisfaction and fulfillment. God knows us and also knows what will make us the most content. We think we know but our minds have been clouded by worldly temptations filled with empty, worthless promises. Living in the Spirit sets you free in a way worldly pleasures never can. Until next time, walk with the King and be a blessing!
