PRAYING GOD’S WILL

“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.”  (1 John 5:14-15)
We won’t have every single solitary request answered in the affirmative, only those things that are according to the will of God.  The question is how do we know the will of God?  The closer we come to the Lord the more apparent His will for us will be.  It’s an individual thing.  His will for me is different than His will for someone else. When all is said and done it’s His will and not our own that we should be seeking.  Why?  Because since God created us He knows us better than we could ever know ourselves.  He knows what we are capable of and desires the very best for us.  Our will pales in comparison to that which God has for us.  His leading and guidance, combined with His wisdom and discernment will keep us steady and strong on the path He has chosen for us. Even when it seems as though our prayers bounce off the clouds and return to us unanswered, God hears and is working on our behalf.  He hears all, sees all and knows all, so there is nothing to fear or be apprehensive about.  Scripture is clear that “all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” (Romans 8:28)  Until next time, walk with the King and be a blessing!
