“Even to your old age and gray hairs I am
he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will
sustain you and I will rescue you.” Isaiah 46:4
God is speaking through the prophet
Isaiah to the nation of Israel exiled in Babylon. Since His promises are for all generations
they are for us today as well. I have
often said that if we place our full, unwavering trust in God He will provide
for and sustain us throughout our lives.
This verse confirms that as fact.
His promise to us all is that He will sustain us, carry us and rescue us
when we become weary and simply unable to go on.
Too many people call themselves believers in God yet refuse
to allow a personal relationship to grow.
Some simply don’t want to be perceived by others as becoming too
spiritual. My friends, who do you seek
to please, friends and family or the God who paid your sin debt? The Lord did for you what no mortal man could
ever do, yet you ignore Him until you feel you need Him. You make your own decisions and when they go
awry you call out to God to clean up your mess.
Doesn’t it make more sense to draw close to the Lord and learn His
standard for living so you can avoid some of the pitfalls that can occur?
Some folks are simply ignorant of God’s desire to become to real to us and have a positive influence on our lives. What did Christ die for? He paid the debt owed for our sins, true, but He also died so we could have an abundant life. An abundant life isn’t living as we always have. An abundant life comes from seeking God daily and doing His will for your life. He will lead and guide you into all truth and as a result will sustain you by the power of His Holy Spirit. If this is a foreign concept to you, pray and ask God to reveal these exciting truths to you so that you may be blessed to know God to the fullest. Until next time, walk with the King and be a blessing!
