Who can hide in secret places so that I cannot see them?” declares the Lord. “Do not I fill heaven and earth?” declares the Lord. - Jeremiah 23:24
There are times when even the staunchest believer can fall victim to temptation. We lose sight of reason as our focus shifts off the Lord and onto that which we know in our heart we should not do. We try our best to conceal what we are doing and succeed in part, by fooling those around us with half-truths and ambiguity. During this time we are barely thinking about God, for our nefarious actions have consumed us. All the while God is there. Being omniscient, He is aware of all our comings and goings. There is nowhere for us to successfully hide and nothing we can say or do that escapes Him. God will allow us to go off on our rabbit trail, but will also be the first to welcome us back when we eventually come to our senses. Consequences always end up catching up with us as we become caught in our own web, yet we serve a forgiving God. We will make mistakes in this life; however, we are not defined by those mistakes. God loves us unconditionally and will always forgive us once we repent of our indiscretions. Until next time…walk with the King and be a blessing!
