Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. - Colossians 3:13
While it is good to remain patient and forgiving with all those you encounter, Paul is especially referring to our being that way with our brethren. Christians are hardly perfect; therefore, we must be open to the teachings of scripture so that we can hone the behavioral characteristics that God desires us to have. If we do not it’s like looking at ourselves in a mirror and walk away forgetting what we look like (James 1:24). We shall never attain all that God has for us that way. We must be moldable, like clay in a potter’s hands. We must remember and never forget the forgiveness God readily and willingly gave us when we receive His indescribable gift of redemption. That is to be the back drop that motivates us to do likewise with those we have a grievance with. Consider what state we would be in if God withheld His forgiveness from us. Until next time … walk with the King and be a blessing!
