“Teach me to do Your will, for You
are my God; may Your Spirit lead me on level ground.” Psalm 143:10
A believer must have a pliable, teachable
spirit so that the Holy Spirit can instruct and guide them into all wisdom and
truth. God has a general will for all believers and a more specific individual will
based on the spiritual gifts the Lord has given us. To discern His will for us we must diligently
seek it. At times like these we tend to
race ahead of the Lord and not wait for His leading. We become impatient and imagine that we have
heard the still, small voice of His Spirit when we have only heard our own mind
telling us what we want to hear. Allow
the Lord to teach you His perfect will for your life. He is the only One who knows it and can
impart it to you. Without careful
discernment and confirmation from a trusted source, we will never know what God
would have us to do for His kingdom.
If you’ve
ever done any hiking, you know that walking up hill can be tiresome. Walking downhill is much easier; however,
walking on level ground is the most consistent path to take. That is the path we should seek, the one we
should ask for. While we will invariably
end up walking up and down many hills in our life, they are only there to build
our spiritual stamina. Level ground is
like God Himself; consistent and steadfast.
Walk in the will of God and know peace.
Until next time, walk with the King and be a blessing!
