“Trust1 in the Lord forever,
for the Lord, the Lord himself, is the Rock eternal.”
Isaiah 26:4
If we have placed our faith in God, then the
natural progression from that point is to trust Him. From that point we must place a firm reliance
on Him, believing in our heart, soul, mind and spirit that what the Bible says
about God is absolutely true. Based on
scripture, we can place our full trust and reliance on our Heavenly Father for
in scripture we find no evidence that He has ever failed to do that which He
has promised.
Many don’t know the deeper things
of God’s character because they don’t spend nearly enough time with Him. I do not advocate burying oneself in the
Bible 24/7 as a means of knowing Him, but rather reading scripture as often as
you feel compelled to. If you do not
have such a compulsion that perhaps your wiring is faulty. If you married your boy or girl friend
without spending any time with them, you would know virtually nothing about
them. Why should it be any different
with God, because you can’t see Him? God
wants us to know Him as much as He can be known and that comes from
incorporating Him into each and every part of our life.
Trust God; rely2
on Him to be your provider and sustainer in this life. Allow your autonomous3
spirit to give way to the perfect will of God and you will find that not only
will your trust be rewarded, but also your life, which will be truly blessed in
spite of any circumstances you may encounter.
Until next time, walk with the King and be a blessing!
1 Firm
reliance on
the integrity, ability, or character of a person or thing.
2 To be
dependent for support, help, or supply; to place, have faith or confidence in.
3 Not
controlled by others or by outside forces; independent; independent in mind or
judgment; self-directed.
